Viton Fluorocarbon (FKM) or fluoroelastomer Rubber Rubber Sheet (Fol) is originally developed in 1957 by DuPont in response to high temperature applications that can also withstand chemical attacks. AP Service style 485 is produced using 100% virgin FKM Viton Fluorocarbon. The material provides a good sealing quality in applications that require temperature, weathering, and gas permeability. This unique product stands for ozone, fuel, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, lubricants, organic solvents, certain acids, and many corrosive industrial applications. Examples of conditions under which the use of Fluorocarbon rubber should be avoided are: ketone organic acid, low molecular weight, superheated steam, and glycol based liquids.
